Nature Bound Australia is the retired travel arm of a proud family company Encounter Promotions Pty Ltd founded in 1981 by John and Roslyn Thompson. Creating a diverse selection of experiential projects and special events for a broad range of clients.
These have included national industry expositions, international sport, medical and health advocacy, conferencing, special corporate events, outback national park and wilderness journeys throughout Australia, New Zealand and USA.
We are privileged to have touched many facets of city, regional and outback life in Australia. Gaining a deep understanding of the work and lifestyle pressures impacting us all, in this challenging era.
We recognise there is a growing community mistrust in governments and institutions facing complex universal disruption and social change.
Research suggests there is need for a critical inter-dependence between business and humans sharing a common cause for humanity, social licence and market share. Described by high achievers in business and civil society, globally, as a plan for People+Planet+Profit.

Our mission at Nature Bound Australia is to assist in the empathetic facilitation of change. The enduring retention of worthy cultural values, vital in the face of degenerating “creeping normality”.
The need for humans to take time out in nature, to revitalise the soul, the psychological and physical health of all. To reflect and connect with a greater world, both personally and in support of business enterprise.
Our commitment has extended to an in depth study of how “nature deficit” is impacting individuals, families and communities in a variety of health and social challenges.
Empowerment, commitment, performance and connection to enterprise is also at stake.
It is apparent thought-leaders and business managers need to have a deep awareness of and connection with nature. To ensure future economic, environmental and social decisions are in harmony with nature’s way.
The truth is we are all part of nature and we need to show up for both nature, business and humanity.

John, is an engaging story teller, the driving force behind business consultancies over 40 years; the design and leadership of remote outback journeys; facilitator and author behind nature based articles and programs; delivery of keynote speaker engagements; customised workshops; one on one and group conversational events.
Every presentation is researched and communicated personally in a futuristic but humbling manner, in environments ranging from conference halls and board rooms to world heritage forests, isolated desert sand ridges and parched salt lakes.
He is a passioned advocate for businesses choosing a new “Nature’s Way” to success, “fit for the future”, as well as advising individuals and small travel groups embarking on immersive Australian outback holiday excursions.
